Clark (Tom Welling) learns Kara (Laura Vandervoort) is in Washington searching for the crystal. Kara is captured after she breaks into the lab and sedated with a kryptonite-infused truth serum. The serum causes her to relive a prior trip to Earth when she followed Clark’s biological mother, Lara (gust star Helen Slater), to the Kent farm. Clark arrives in time to save her but, after searing the machine with heat vision, he also falls victim to the serum and sees what Kara sees: his mother. Kristin Kreuk, Michael Rosenbaum, Allison Mack, Erica Durance, Aaron Ashmore and John Glover also star. James Conway directed the episode .. Written by Don Whitehead & Holly Henderson.
Laura Vandervoort is a Canadian actress who was born on September 22, 1984 in Toronto, Ontario. Her nickname is “VanderV,” and she is 5’ 7” in height. She has earned a second degree black belt in karate, and is the third cousin of noted Canadian performer Gordon Pinsent, as well as having an older sister named Sarah. Vandervoort has also had strong interest in writing, and studied at York University where she majored in both English and Psychology. One of her chosen personal quotes is that “Hollywood is something imagined, acting is something crafted.” She has acted in a number of television productions, among them Are You Afraid of the Dark, Twice in a Lifetime, and The Gavin Crawford Show.
She’s cute and she’s accessible to her fans. She kept a blog on the WB’s website to promote the show, and she even attended the comic book convention Comic-Con in 2003 and 2004.
Her biggest role thus far is on the WB’s Smallville, but she has also appeared in the movie Camp Nowhere and in Disney’s feature video, >Honey, We Shrunk Ourselves. She also played Richard Lewis’ daughter on the ABC series Hiller and Diller. Allison spends most of the year in Vancouver, British Columbia, where Smallville is filmed.
