A Second NHL Team in Toronto?

The Toronto Maple Leafs It is now being  tossed around – by NHL executives, no less – that a second NHL franchise could possible heading to Toronto.

 

Jim Balsillie’s (co-CEO of Research in Motion Ltd.) name has already been linked to this possible expansion or relocation (which franchise is for sale this year) due to his interest in owning a professional hockey team and in part to the financial aid he provided to the  Nashville Predators.

 

Rumors’ are suggesting that the new team would use the Air Canada Center, sharing the facilities with the Leafs and paying a hefty rental price (utilities not included).

 

But would another Toronto team work? Would it have a negative impact on the gold-plated franchise known as the Toronto Maple Leafs? Tough to say…..

Would another Toronto Team Work, personally I believe that it would not work. A negative impact, I believe yes, it would take away fans from the Toronto Maple Leafs. I believe a Market in Hamilton Ontario would  be better. The City has request time and time again that they would like a Franchise to come in. This might be there chance to do that.  Time will Tell if NHL executives will take the bit for another Canadian Team.
