The race has begun for the Stanley Cup Playoffs!
The NHL leagueâe™s 90th chase for the Stanley Cup began this Wednesday with four games.
There will be a new champion crowned in June from the field of 16 playoff teams, unless the defending champion Anaheim Ducks have something to say in that matter. No team has won back-to-back Stanley Cups since the Detroit Red Wings accomplished that feat in the 1997 and 1998 seasons.
The Eastern Conference will see:
Montreal Canadiens vs. Boston Bruins
Pittsburgh Penguins vs. Ottawa Senators
Washington Capitals vs. Philadelphia Flyers
New Jersey Devils vs. New York Rangers
The Western Conference will see:
Detroit Red Wings vs. Nashville Predators
San Jose Sharks vs. Calgary Flames
Minnesota Wild vs. Colorado Avalanche
Anaheim Mighty Ducks vs. Dallas Stars
Is their a clear Cup favorite? Who will surprise? Who will disappoint?
Be sure to discuss your thoughts and opinions of the 2008 Stanley Cup playoffs
